Felix Carrier-Damon of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and his grandfather Bruce Carrier experienced a touching moment in a video that quickly went viral. Last week, Felix hit his first home run, and he gave Bruce the lucky ball.
Melissa Carrier-Damon, Felix’s mother, posted the popular video in which Felix enthusiastically greets Bruce, whom he addresses as ‘Papa.’ You are aware that I hit two home runs, right?
Bruce is told by Felix. ‘I inscribed ‘Papa I love you’ on the ball for you.’ Bruce asks Felix, who is obviously moved by the action, ‘Why did you do that?’
The 9-year-old responds without hesitation, ‘Because you taught me everything about baseball.’ Following a lengthy hug, Bruce sobs in realization of the small boy’s affection for him.
Living proof that it’s always beneficial to make the extra effort is Felix’s grandfather, especially when it comes to educating the next generation.
It is really uncommon to witness such a touching act from a young 9-year-old, and it further illustrates the close relationship the boy has with his grandfather.
The bond between Melissa’s father and her kid was described by Melissa as being ‘close’ in the following ways: ‘They play catch, he’ll take him to batting practice, and he comes to all of his games.’ They only constitute a sizable portion of our family.
Giving one of the prize balls to his granddad was the young boy’s idea. ‘We drove over there,’ Melissa recalled,’ and I was able to capture the moment on camera.’ ‘Go fetch Papa and you can deliver it to him.’
The video’s viral success was completely unexpected by the mother of three children. She stated that she is appreciative of everyone’s kind remarks.
She continued, ‘It’s been something I never dreamed,’ adding that she had shown Felix and her father the comments. It’s touching that so many individuals left such complimentary remarks.
