The infant Charlotte was born with profound hearing loss.
No one in Christy Keane’s family, including her husband, has a history of hearing loss, and as Christy Keane’s mother said on Instagram, “nothing can really prepare you for such news.” Her parents are still baffled as to what could have caused her hearing loss. However, the couple did not seem to mind it at all. They had every right to claim her as their own.
She never heard me tell her how much I prayed for her when she was in my belly, she never heard me welcome her into the world, she’s never heard me sing her to sleep, and the most difficult thing to deal with is that she’s never heard me say, “I love you.” This was the only sad part about the news, as Christy put it: “she never heard me tell her how much I prayed for her when she was in my belly.”
But as of not too long ago, everything has shifted.
Hearing aids were substituted for cochlear implants for Charly because the baby girl only has a few months under her belt, making her too young for cochlear implants.
Little Charly’s expression brightened as soon as her mother began to talk to her.
After that, Christy was finally able to utter those three simple words: “I love you.”
The young girl’s eyes started to well up with tears, and it was obvious that she understood the depth of the love that was directed toward her.
Christy shared the following on her Facebook page: “We experienced our miraculous moment that I had been praying for when Char got her hearing aides today.” Because we didn’t expect she would hear anything, the fact that she did is more unbelievable to me than I can describe. She elaborated on this in an Instagram post, writing, “Imagine our amazement and happiness when she offered us such heartfelt feeling.”
