This bride’s 4 grandmas were the flower girls at her wedding, the photos are beautiful

When wedding arrangements are made, the flower girl role is typically assigned to little children. While that is the norm, a couple who recently got married chose to take a different route – by asking their four grandmothers to walk as flower girls at their wedding! Thus, they have the cutest wedding photo book ever!

Lyndsey Raby wanted her September wedding to Tanner Raby to be a special and memorable one, so she decided to give the flower girl role to her four grandmothers.

From left to right on the photo above, the flower girls were the bride’s 90-year-old great-grandmother, Kathleen Brown; the groom’s 70-year-old grandmother, Joyce Raby; the bride’s 76-year-old grandmother, Wanda Grant; and the bride’s 72-year-old grandmother, Betty Brown.

“I knew as soon as I was engaged I wanted to involve my grandmothers,” she told the HuffPost. “I felt so blessed to have them all here so I wanted them to be involved too.”

Lindsay and Tanner tied the knot in Benton, Tennessee, and while the couple both looked dazzling and in their wedding attires, their grandmothers looked equally stunning wearing matching grayish-blue dresses and jackets. Each of the four women held a small basket wrapped in white cloth, with the words “Here Comes The Bride” written on it in gorgeous script.

Aside from the detail of their clothing and accessories, their look was completed by the beautiful smiles they wore throughout the whole wedding ceremony. Photographer Natalie Caho captured photographs of the women, and the candid ones were the best as it showed how genuinely happy they were to be playing the flower girl role. Each of them walked down the aisle gracefully and owned it.

Natalie shared the some of the images from the wedding photo book of Lyndsey posing with the four grandmothers on her Facebook photography page.

“I’ve seen a lot of cute flower girls in my day…. but these four gals take the cake,” she captioned the post.

The post went viral, and the photographer had nothing but praises for the four women. She told Today Style: “I was not expecting the level of sass that these girls brought. Their energy all day was that of a little girl who was in the same position. It truly just goes to show that age is just a number.”

Lyndsey told the HuffPost that the grandmas were all “ecstatic” when she asked them to be her flower girls. They gave an even bigger reaction than the other people who were included in the wedding.

“I do believe they were more excited than my bridesmaids,” Lyndsey said.

The bride said that she got the grandmother idea when she saw something similar on Pinterest, which is a source that many brides use for wedding inspirations.

Now that her story has gone viral, Lyndsey hopes that it will inspire other soon-to-be-married couples to involve their grandparents when their special day comes.

“It means so much to them and it will mean so much more to you,” she said.
