Brad Pitt’s ‘Make It Right Foundation’, according to the court’s decision, will pay the owners of the apartments that were built as part of the Katrina disaster relief program, reports The Washington Post.
Each of the 107 homeowners will receive $25,000 in compensation, with the remaining amount distributed based on the extent of the damage to the home.
The Brad Pitt Foundation built 150 homes in New Orleans in 2007, two years after the devastating hurricane. At first, the project was praised, but then it turned out that the houses were of poor quality. residents complained of bent doors, moldy wood, and leaking roofs.
‘Katrina’ was the most destructive hurricane in the history of the United States. It was a Category 5 hurricane on the Saffir–Simpson Hurricane Scale and the sixth strongest hurricane in the Atlantic basin on record. It happened at the end of August 2005.
