Snoop Dogg‘s mother is not doing well and the west coast icon has asked his friends and family for prayers amid her health issues.
Snoop, 49, spent Mother’s Day weekend reflecting on how his mother, Beverly Broadus-Green, isn’t doing well. While he didn’t share any specifics, the rapper did ask his 58 million followers on Instagram to keep her in their prayers. “I need all my prayer warriors for momma right now please and thank you,” he wrote in a post, prompting well-wishes from the likes of Busta Rhymes, Killer Mike, D Smoke and more. “Mama thank u for having me could of gave me up but u raised a family.”
Snoop has a close relationship with his mother as evident by “Thank You For Having Me,” a song he dedicated to her in honor of Mother’s Day 2019.
Earlier this month, Snoop reflected on age in an interview with PEOPLE, where he shared his plans for turning 50 in October. “I’m probably going to do a player’s ball party where everybody can be dressed up, give away some awards, have some good musical performances, you know what I’m saying?” he said. “I’m old school. So I just need my event to be wholesome and nice, where people can leave there saying, ‘I had the time of my life.’”

Last month, Snoop Dogg lost his mother Beverly Tate, who passed away at the age of 70. He mourned the loss of his mother with multiple pictures on Social Media. “Mama thank u for having me. Thank u god for giving me an angel for a mother,” he wrote. After the revelation, the West Coast legend received support from several celebrities, including Busta Rhymes, Russ, KXNG Crooked, Paris Hilton, Fat Joe, The Rock, Cardi B, Fabolous, Timbaland, and more.
Now the funeral of his mother took place this week at Long Beach, and Snoop Dogg shared multiple pictures from the last rites on his Social Media. Wearing the full red matching clothes with his wife, Snoop Dogg was wearing a chain with a picture of him with his mother.
He was accompanied by his brothers and other family members, including his grandkids.
Snoop’s celebrity pals paid tribute to the rapper’s mother on social media, including David Beckham, who said, “Sending love and peace to the family.” Tyron Woodley and DJ Whoo Kid both included praying hand emojis in their posts. Snoop chose not to postpone his planned show in the days following his mother’s death, instead spoke to the audience during his performance “I wasn’t even gonna come out here and perform tonight ’cause my mother passed away earlier tonight, but in the spirit of the people of Boston, I wanted to come out here and represent for y’all because this is what my mama would have wanted me to do,” Snoop said.
