Nigerian Lady graduates as an Electrical Engineer with first-class, wins full PhD scholarship to US university

After excelling in her undergraduate degree, talented Nigerian woman Esiri Oghenekaro was awarded a PhD Scholarship to study electrical and computer engineering at Cornell University in New York, United States.

At the University of Benin, South-South, Nigeria, Esiri Oghenekaro earned a top-notch Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Out of a possible 5, she received a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.80.

She received a PhD scholarship to Cornell University in New York just two years after graduating despite not having a Master’s degree.

Esiri Oghenekaro described how she accomplished the remarkable achievement, saying she had always wanted to continue her study abroad.

“I decided at this time last year, in August 2021, that I would study abroad, and here I am, a year later!

I’m excited to share that Cornell University has offered to sponsor my PhD in electrical and computer engineering, she posted on LinkedIn.

I received a fully funded scholarship that pays for my tuition, health insurance, and living expenses while I’m here, and I’m so thankful to God for the chance, she continued.

Esiri Oghenekaro thanked her loved ones and everyone else for helping her realize her dream.

“I’d want to express my gratitude to my family and friends for their moral support throughout the application process. It has been a really difficult trip, she wrote.
