Man Fighting To Get His Dog Back After Shelter Adopted Him Out To Another Family

  • by

According to ilovemydogsomuch.com, the Perez family of Raymondville, Texas, is battling to reclaim their dog after the city’s animal control adopted him out to another family.

Snowflake, who they rescued from the Texas floods in June, broke loose and fled away the week before Thanksgiving. The family searched for hours but came up empty-handed.

He ended up with the city’s animal control, who reportedly adopted him out to another family before giving the Perez family an opportunity to claim him.

Hector Perez, Snowflakes’ father, told KRGV through tears how much his family misses their beloved puppy.

According to Perez, the shelter conceded that they made a mistake and informed him that Snowflake’s new adoptive family did not want to return him.

Despite his best efforts, including discussions with the Raymondville police chief, the Perez family has yet to reclaim Snowflake.

The saddest thing, according to Perez, is that Snowflake’s new family lives close.

“If you whistle, I can hear him bark,” he told KRGV. “He belongs to us, he’s part of our family.”

The city’s attorney is currently looking into the incident, and Perez is looking into his options as well. Perez hopes to have Snowflake back with his family before Christmas.
