Lisa Marie Just Released A Duet With Her Father And It’s The Best Thing I’ve Heard In Ages

The loss of Elvis Presley more than 40 years ago rocked the world, as his fans were left devastated when he passed away. His music lives on, however, with daughter Lisa Marie Presley, who recently released a duet with her father called “Where No One Stands Alone.”

The song is a touching and emotional tribute to an iconic music legend.

The song is part of a new Elvis compilation that celebrates gospel music, with the tune showcasing Lisa Marie’s talent.

The song is among 14 tracks on the album, and includes songs from his albums “How Great Thou Art” (1967) and “He Touched Me” (1972), combined with new instrumentation and vocals from Darlene Love and Cissy Houston.

The duet with Lisa Marie, on a song that originally came out in 1967, is special to the late singer’s daughter, which she explained in the album’s liner notes: “It was a very powerful and moving experience to sing with my father.”

She added: “The lyrics speak to me and touch my soul. I’m certain that the lyrics spoke to my father in much the same way.”
“No One Stands Alone” lyrics:

Once I stood in the night
With my head bowed low
In the darkness as black as could be
And my heart felt alone and I cried oh Lord
Don’t hide your face from me
Like a king I may live in a palace so tall
With great riches to call my own
But I don’t know a thing
In this whole wide world
That’s worse than being alone
Hold my hand all the way, every hour every day
Come here to the great unknown
Take my hand, let me stand
Where no one stands alone
Take my hand, let me stand
Where no one stands alone

Lisa Marie further explained her father’s love of gospel music, sharing with fans: “This was his favorite genre — no question about it.

He seemed to be at his most passionate, and at peace while singing gospel. He would truly come alive — whether he was singing just for himself and me at home, or on stage in front of thousands of fans.”

Lisa Marie discussed her father during an interview on the British talk show Lorraine, sharing: “I wouldn’t say I talk to him. I just remember everything.

I can sort of pull out of the files whatever memories I have and stuff like that. And occasionally ask for help. Which was the case with this record.

I just felt like a hand came down to me, it felt like that a little bit.”

The result is a powerful duet with her father.

Among the many people who weighed in with comments on the music video were some huge fans, as one person noted: “Elvis could do Country, Gospel the Blues and Rock n Roll… most artists today can only do one style. No wonder he is known as The King.”

Another commenter shared: “Her producer said the entire crew was crying during rehearsal, they had to stop because Lisa was crying. The Holy Spirit was there!!! I know there are no tears in heaven but I can see tears of happiness in Elvis eyes today. I’m sure he would be so proud of her. Love this.”
