Patti Baumgartner, a grandma, learned that people in her neighborhood were disregarding speed warnings, and she decided to take matters into her own hands to ensure their safety.

She posted on Facebook on the 17th of August, 2019, that she was doing her part to help keep Finley Point, Montana, safe from people who drive too fast, and she cautioned them all to slow down when driving through the area.

On the side of the road, Baumgartner was photographed in her go-to lawn chair while also holding a hairdryer and a cup of coffee.

Baumgartner is a native of South Finley Point, Montana, and she has remarked that vehicles are motivated to slow down merely by aiming her hairdryer towards traffic that passes by her because they believe she genuinely has a speed detector.

She began doing this because many people in her neighborhood were complaining that they were unable to ride their bikes or walk due to the speed of the automobiles.

When her son saw her solution in action, he thought it was very funny and decided to tweet a picture of it to a Highway Patrol Trooper named Noah Pesola.

In response, Trooper Pesola told her son that he would like to meet Baumgartner and even give her a prize for her efforts because he thought it was very clever.

Baumgartner had actually tried to hide from him, but it was no use with him having her picture.

He didn’t want to give her any trouble. He just wanted to give her the unofficial title of “Honorary Montana Trooper” for her clever solution to help wit keeping her grandchildren and neighborhood safe.

He provided Baumgartner with a campaign hat and sticker badge, making her an honorary trooper for all of the efforts that she put forth to help keep her grandchildren and neighborhood safe.
